T turns 1! // Baby Photographer

Just over a year ago I spent a very entertaining Saturday morning taking photos with a fun couple expecting their first child. One week later baby T was born. And look at her now! She’s a little one year old on the go. Judging by the way she wouldn’t sit still, she’s going to be a handful for her mom and dad. I think she inherited a little bit (ok, a lot) of her parents’ sense of humor. And it shows.

One little side note. This session had a very special guest. Grandma was in town for T’s birthday and we were able to get three generations together. I love helping to create memories!

Superheroes // Family Photographer

Who doesn’t love a superhero? They are strong, brave and can leap giant buildings in a single bound. There is so much more to love with these little superheroes. They both have great energy and are the sweetest boys. Imagine be able to run through fields without a care in the world. Have no fear that these two guys will be taking on the world someday!

All superheroes have great parents. This is such a beautiful, loving family. Meeting families like this is why I love doing what I do.

Brothers and a Sister // Family Photographer

Siblings are an incredible thing. Growing up they can be your best of friends or your worst of enemies. Sometimes all in the same 15 minutes. Being the only girl with two brothers, I should know. Which is what made meeting the K family so fun. Two brothers and a baby sister. They were so sweet with each other. Big brothers N and C took such great care of H. Don’t get me wrong, there was a good amount of ribbing, but boys will be boys, right? Overall, they showed a genuine warmth for each other and it really shows in these photos.

Not only that, H is an adorable little girly girl, and judging by the boys’ smiles the tooth fairy has been visiting their house quite a bit lately. How could you not love them?

Thank Heaven // Family Photographer

As the song goes, thank heaven for little girls. And on this beautiful fall afternoon, the heavens opened up. And rained. After taking refuge on the porch of the Burwell House, we were able to capture some great photos and beautiful fall colors with the W family. Look out for S and L, these adorable sisters are future fashionistas. I had a lot of fun hanging out with this family and I hope they did too – rain, skinned knees and all!

True story, as I pulled out of the park’s parking lot, it started raining again. My view on the drive home was of the most perfect rainbow. The little things can add up to so much!

Sweet Angel // Baby Photographer

Sweet angel indeed. Every time I look at this adorable baby’s face, I fall more in love with her!! The sparkling blue eyes. The rosy cheeks! Ok, so I’m a little biased. This little one is my niece (and goddaughter). M just passed the 6-month mark and I can’t believe how fast she’s grown. She’s so easy to smile, and when she does just lights up. She’s is also very inquisitive. She’ll be walking and talking before we know it because she’s always watching – very closely. Careful, you might get in a stare down with her.

My family is so blessed to have baby M and I’m very excited to share this session with you!

Mr. H turns 1 // Baby Photography

Yesterday was the perfect day to celebrate a birthday. H turned 1 and I was on hand to record this special occasion. His mom and dad are my bestest friends, so I’ve been following this little guy for a year. Hard to believe this little one is 1 already!! Happy Birthday H!

Oh, October

October snuck up on us out of nowhere! We all complain about how fast time flies, so I’m going to be sure to take the time to enjoy the small things this month. We’ve been blessed with some beautiful weather this fall. Right now I’m looking out my window at the lake and soaking up the beauty of the sunshine and turning leaves. The small things.

Change of Seasons // Senior photos

The air changed today. Gone is summer and fall is knocking on the door. As I write this I’m watching an orange moon rise over the lake and I can’t help but get nostalgic about starting a new school year. It was so fun to see all the first day photos posted on facebook last week. All the excitement and anticipation of new teachers, new clothes, new routines. And football games! A true sign that school has started.

I’m excited to share J’s senior photos. His mom is my cousin, so these were especially fun to take. Hard to believe the little guy that used to love his Toy Story dolls is a big tough football player. What better place to capture that senior moment than on the football field. Good luck this year J!

Lulabella Photography 2.0

The 2.0 idea is a little overused in the digital world, but it seems to work well here. In an attempt to re-brand my website, I broke it and decided to start over from scratch (I’m not so good with computer programming). I lost all previous content featured on the site, but that is ok! Lulabella 2.0 features a lot of the work that I wrote about over the last year or so, and in a pleasing, more professional way (I hope!).

So a new beginning….Welcome! Lulabella Photography is my baby. I’ve been slowly growing the business over the last year and am excited about the improvements I’ve made in my work. My goal is to provide quality natural light portraits for you and your family. Each family I work with is unique in their own special way, and I strive to provide that same uniqueness with each session.
